Zimbabwe vs Netherlands, Second ODI Cricket

We got a chance to witness a great game of cricket between Zimbabwe and Netherlands on Thursday at Harare Sports Club.

Zimbabwe has made a miraculous comeback to force a decider in this match. The Dutch had the game when they were confidently up 166/1 and then up 197-2, but everything fell apart after that. After their second wicket stand, Max O’Dowd and Tom Cooper appeared to be in no trouble, and the match was headed for a one-sided conclusion. Sikandar Raza eventually caught O’Dowd after he missed a sweep after Cooper was first taken out. After that, Zimbabwe started to change, and it paid off handsomely. The game-changing hat-trick by Wessly Madhevere in the 44th over made him the unlikely hero.

As it came time to finish it off, Netherlands leaned on their captain Scott Edwards, but in the penultimate over, Raza managed to dismiss him with a low full-toss. Netherlands came close when 19 were needed off the final over, but Chatara maintained his composure to win the match following an unexceptional over. Because of their careless fielding, which included dropping catches and fumbling frequently, Raza became enraged and began yelling and cursing at his teammates. But when it mattered most, it remained intact to help the home team tie the series.
